About Us
The Baseball Section was founded in 1980 by Josh Viljoen, Ian McCabe and Allen McCabe.
Midway through the ’90s, we adopted the name of MP Mustangs Baseball Section. Initially, we had four Senior Teams and a host of Junior Teams. Unfortunately, we have no juniors at this stage, a fate suffered by most baseball clubs. Currently, we have two Senior Teams and a complete Japanese Team which joined us in about 2000. This team comprises Japanese citizens who reside in South Africa whilst working for various Japanese companies. Baseball is Japan’s national sport, and we are honoured to have this group participating in our leagues as part of Marks Park.
